November 2020 Newsletter: The dangers of unchecked fear!
November holds a special place in our hearts as it is the season of Thanksgiving, however, with the unfolding of so many unprecedented events from the pandemic and other events, it seems hard to get a handle on our emotions. Wherever we turn to, whether the news channel or newspaper, the headlines seem to be focused on Fear of some kind.
While Fear remains a healthy and protective instinct, which was meant to be mixed with sound reasoning, what happens when Fear is overblown to such an extent, is that it takes over one’s existence. This is the Fear I want to shed light on. This is the Fear that convinces a person that there is no incentive to live, sometimes to the extent that living is more burdensome than death!
We are seeing this Fear unfold in families, in schools, in institutions and in every walk of life. It leads people to do irrational things that they would never usually do. This mostly happens when people isolate themselves in their Fear and do not communicate their feelings to anyone else. This is the Fear that has caused an epidemic of depression, anxiety, acute and chronic stress, violence, suicide, divorces, and nervous breakdowns.
Communication is key. Communication and dialogue are needed to point out rational and irrational aspects of all fears. I would encourage people to reach out for help, to a friend, parent, pastor, teacher, social worker, physician, counselor, psychiatrist, etc. to help deal with these Fears.
We were all created to do wonderful things and our lives are much too precious to live paralyzed in Fear! You are precious and have a purpose, so please reach for help and fulfill your destiny to fruition!
This Month in the Kitchen we will discuss Thyme in our ingredient spotlight. We will also prepare Chili-Flavored Romano beans with baby Eggplant and balsamic vinegar. We will also discuss why unchecked Fear and stress will destroy your outlook in life in our monthly why section.
As always, cherish the people in your life and live your life with an attitude of thanksgiving, and live long and strong!
