May - A season of planning and planting what you want!

This is the season to dig your heels deeper into the seriousness of life — a time when our resolutions made in the New Year are firmly written on the tablets of our hearts. Children are looking forward to a time of renewal when their school year ends, therefore making this a special time of planning and planting. As a parent, I feel this time is very important, as I can invest even more time into my family. Our children will grow year after year, but it is important to note where their growth stems from. It is not just food, shelter, and clothing that is needed, but we also need to shower them with security and safety. They need to know how special they are. The most important thing is that there is nobody like them in all the earth — we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. The realization of one's dreams depends entirely on the level of expectation one has in his/her heart.

People who know who they are in this life will treat other people with kindness as well. It is important for children to know that they must treat everyone like they like to be treated, and that respect and love must be integral to life. It is especially true that when these lessons are left unlearned in the years of childhood, children can later grow into hostile people as adults. Hurt people like to hurt other people. The statistics are staggering, abused people can hurt other people as well, almost subconsciously. The important message is to sow only what you want to reap. If you plant a lemon seed, you will get a harvest of lemons. If you sow hatred, laziness, and disrespect, and keep watering this seed, you will get a harvest of the same, whether you like it or not. This is the truth we must teach our children. Children are never too young to learn the laws of kindness and truth, which have been discarded in different aspects of society. This is not just a message for parents, it is for anyone who has the opportunity to mentor a child in their walk of life. This month I would encourage you to stop complaining and start sowing the seed you wish to harvest — you will not be disappointed in your quest if your seed is a noble one.

This month in the kitchen we will talk about Why to choose organic ,and the health benefits of cumin. In our recipes, we will showcase our Spectacular Dungeness Crab in Madras Coconut Curry. I wish you a peaceful, blessed time and that you live long and strong!
