August Newsletter: Life is a series of major decisions!
It has been a wonderful summer for many, and it’s time to wind down and focus on the goals for the year. Life is full of so many seasons and many serious decisions. The decisions we make and the effort we put into them, will affect us for years to come. There is absolutely no substitute for hard work. Just as a farmer purposefully plants potato tubers to receive a harvest of potatoes, we also are consciously or subconsciously sowing into our life good or bad seed. Many times people are surprised at the harvest. A farmer never sows potatoes and expects turnips, that would be an oddity! Life is filled with consequences that may be good or bad. There are outcomes that we cannot control, but there are many that can be solved by making sound decisions. This is where parents, role models, and father/mother figures come into the picture. These people are integral to molding and advising the next generation in a way that will positvely impact their future —if it is based on principles and skills acquired througout their lives. The whole earth and the way we live is founded on sowing and reaping, so let us pay attention to the things we sow in our life!
This month in the kitchen, Black pepper will be showcased in our ingredient spotlight. We will also discuss about high blood pressure in our health section. In our recipes, we will make Indian-spiced Roasted vegetable/carmelized onion goat cheese tart made with almond flour, and Miso-marinated Salmon in Coconut curry. As always, I wish that you live long and strong.
