Turkey Keema w/Veggies

Keema can be prepared with other ground or minced meats. This is a healthy dish to enjoy year round. It is loaded with protein and low in fat. It can be served with Naan, basmati rice, polenta, brown rice, quinoa and other breads.

Ingredients:

3 pounds of Ground Turkey  93% lean meat

4 teaspoons of sesame oil

1 teaspoon organic ground Turmeric

1 & 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala

1 & 1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground pepper

I head of Garlic minced finely

3-4 inches fresh Ginger minced finely

4-5 large Bell Peppers multicolored sliced thin

2 teaspoon Tamarind pulp

2 teaspoon Ketchup

One Large Onion Chopped fine

Thai Basil - Chiffonade one large bunch

Instructions:

1.Heat 2 teaspoon of oil in a large nonstick pain.

2.As oil sizzles add the minced Garlic and Ginger and sauté gently till lightly brown.

3.Add the Ground Turkey and work into the Ginger and Garlic, break up into a very small bits.

4. Add Ketchup and Tamarind to mixture and break the turkey into fine bits as you sauté

5.Add Turmeric, Ground Pepper, and Garam masala and work into mixture

6. In another nonstick pan heat 2 teaspoon sesame oil and add the onions and brown

7. After Onions have browned add the Bell peppers and gently sautéing in ensure there is still a crunch to vegetables.

8. Add the Onions and Bell peppers to Turkey mixture and fold in.

9. Add in the Thai Basil and fold in.

10. Set aside to cool after Turkey is thoroughly cooked.
